Since 1984
Abalone, in Harmony with Nature
Abagold's origins date back to 1984, when the late Pierre Hugo began experimental work on abalone breeding in Hermanus. In 1992, Abagold was formally established as South Africa's first commercial abalone farm.
Today, more than 40 years later, we cultivate abalone in close harmony with nature at the southernmost tip of Africa — and supply live abalone and a range of abalone products to international markets.
